This course outlines the relevant firm’s responsibility to perform an internal capital adequacy assessment. It examines the process and methodology that will need to be performed while investigating the risk management framework which needs to be established according to Basel guidelines. It also looks the responsibilities of the different functions as regards the risk assessment and sets out the contents of the report that must be produced so as to satisfy this regulatory requirement. Finally, it describes the process which the regulator undertakes to perform the SREP.
The aim of this seminar is to:
• provide participants with an overview of the Pillar II requirements of Investment Firms
• present the main principals of the Pillar II implementation
• describe the applicable methodologies with respect to the preparation of the report (risk management assessment, stress testing, capital adequacy calculations and future capital planning)
• outline the content of the ICAAP report
• explain the additional requirements introduced by the new prudential regulatory framework
• provide an overview on how regulators evaluate the ICAAP implemented in an Institution
Training Duration
This course may take up to 5 hours to be completed. However, actual study time differs as each learner uses their own training pace.
