The identification and classification of costs and their behaviour provides the basis for understanding and applying the tools and techniques needed to plan, control and make decisions. Budgetary control requires the setting of targets and standards which then allow the performance of organisations to be reported and analysed by the calculation of variances. Investment appraisal, break-even analysis and profit maximisation are used to inform both long- and short-term decision making.
This subject is part of the CIMA qualification, Certificate in Business Accounting which you need to complete along with other subjects which leads to the ultimate qualification.
Note: The BA2 – Fundamentals of Management Accounting does not require formal entry-level qualifications. You must be over the age of 16 and have basic knowledge in Mathematics, ICT and English Language.

Upon the successful completion of the subject Fundamentals of Management Accounting (BA2), you can advance to the next subject of the Diploma in Management Accounting (CIMA Dip MA) or if you have already completed other subject, can apply to the final exam of Diploma in Management Accounting (CIMA Dip MA).
